The Lost Art of Hospital Ventilation
نویسنده
چکیده
exposure ; they opened into wide-windowed corridors which, in turn, communicated with open stairways serving as ventilating flues. In the wards themselves the space allowance per bed was fully 1,800 cubic feet, or, approximately, 50 per cent, above the prevailing standard. All of the conditions favoured abundant natural ventilation. Twenty years have passed, and the costly mechanical ventilating equipment of these wards has never once been operated!

Unfortunately we have been moaning for more than three decades, scince the loss of the Islamic Art and Architecture’s Identity, and continueously complaining about its missing valuable & Holiness of fine and magnificente values. And, we have made a true effort in searching for it, knocked on every door and tried all unknown places for its humbly requesting. Even, some of our faithful companions...
متن کاملProviding Design Strategies for Ventilation System in Treatment Environments (Proposed Sample: Hybrid Ventilation System in Hospitals)
One of basic principles in designing treatment environments is to design air conditioning/ventilation system proportionate to environment. Essentially, appropriate air conditioner in treatment spaces must bear the following capabilities: providing healthy and clean air, reducing the concentration of pollutants produced in the atmosphere, emission of pollutants and impeding their spread in exter...
متن کاملControlled vs Spontaneous Ventilation for Bronchoscopy in Children with Tracheobronchial Foreign Body
Introduction Tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration is a common life-threatening condition in children. There are controversies in the management of this condition, including the type of ventilation during bronchoscopy. This study aims to compare anesthesia with controlled ventilation versus spontaneous ventilation in rigid bronchoscopy in children with foreign body aspiration. Materials...
متن کاملA Comparison between Nasal Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation and Nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Ventilation in the Treatment of Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Background: Nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) is a non-invasive ventilatory mode, which delivers mechanical ventilation via nasal tubes or prongs. The present study was conducted to compare the efficacy of NIPPV and nasal continuous positive airway pressure ventilation (NCPAP) in reducing the need for intubation in preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS)....
متن کاملComparison of Nasal Non-invasive Ventilation Methods in Preterm Neonates with Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Background: Humidified heated high flow nasal cannula (HHHFNC), nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP), and nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) are three nasal non-invasive ventilation methods. The purpose of this study was to compare these three methods in decreasing intubation and mechanical ventilation rate in preterm neonates with respiratory distress syndrom...
